What does it take?

The question of “What Does It Take?” can lead down so many paths that I need to clear up where we are heading. If you are looking to start a business or you have a business and want to grow it, you inevitably will be or should be asking the question “What Does It Take?”


There is so much written about the subject of growing your business, building your business, etc. that you can quickly get lost in all of the noise. You will need to focus your mind and your energy on figuring out what it takes to build your business. Let’s look at the most vital part of growing your business.

I have posed this question thousands of times over the years and I will do it again now. If you were given the opportunity to open the first restaurant in New York City and could pick anything that you wanted with no limitations, what is the thing that you would need most in order to ensure that your restaurant was a success?

This seems like a very easy question based on the responses I have received over the years so let’s look into some of these responses to this question and what it was that I was told we need:

  • A great location
  • Great food
  • The best help
  • The best recipes
  • Great advertising
  • And the list goes on…

These are all great answers and they are all important but the most important thing you need is…
A hungry crowd!



You see all of the other items on our list are important but without a hungry crowd you aren't going anywhere, yet most people overlook this which is the most important aspect!

Now ask yourself this question – who is my hungry crowd? You will need to know who you are targeting in order to make them hungry. Make them hungry, I can’t make them hungry you may be thinking. The truth is that you can make them hungry you just need to know how.
